Sinochem International has completed the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint verification for its para-aramid filament yarns products, earning certification from SGS, a leading third-party authority.
The certification, based on ISO 14040, ISO 14044, and ISO 14067 standards, makes Sinochem International one of the few companies in China’s high-performance fiber industry to complete a full product life cycle assessment. This milestone enables the company to provide clients precise and reliable carbon emission data, bolstering the carbon management and sustainability efforts of both clients and the downstream industry.
Additionally, Sinochem International’s aramid fiber plant has conducted an organizational carbon inventory and received an ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas verification statement from SGS.
This marks the first time the plant has established a comprehensive carbon emission data system across all production and operational processes, meeting greenhouse gas emission standards. This achievement paves the way for further emission evaluation and reduction strategies, the development of internationally competitive low-carbon products, and the enhancement of a green supply chain.
