On June 20, Sinochem International published its 2023 Sustainability Report, marking the company’s 20th consecutive annual release since 2005. The report provides an in-depth look at the company’s commitment to sustainable development, backed by 278 data metrics, 54 case studies, and detailed qualitative insights. It outlines the company’s practical actions, recent progress, and significant achievements in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas throughout 2023, as well as its alignment with major national policies.
In recognition of its strong ESG performance in 2023, Sinochem International achieved higher ratings across several key ESG benchmarks. The company earned an AAA rating in the China Securities Index (CSI) ESG ratings and ranked in the top 9% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.
The 2023 Sustainability Report complies with the Global Sustainability Standards Board’s (GSSB) GRI Standards 2021 and, for the first time, fully aligns with the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s Guidelines on “Self-Regulation for Listed Companies No. 14 – Sustainability Reporting (Trial)” and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission’s (SASAC) “Reference of ESG Indicators System for ESG Reports of Listed Companies Controlled by Central Enterprises.” This demonstrates the company’s proactive approach to meeting new regulatory requirements.
The report was independently verified by TUV Rheinland, a globally recognized third-party certification body, based on relevant international guidelines and standards.
