On February 22, the C3 Project (Phase I) of Sinochem International went into trial operations with a launch ceremony held in the Sinochem Lianyungang Circular Economy Industrial Park, marking a major progress of the park’s construction.
"The C3 project is a significant initiative of Sinochem in terms of collaborative innovation. Upon completion, the plant is expected to lead globally in cost, technology and industrial chain comprehensiveness," said Ning Gaoning, chairman of Sinochem. In addition, Sinochem Lianyungang Circular Economy Industrial Park is an excellent opportunity to explore and promote Sinochem's industrial upgrading."
With a total investment of 13.91 billion yuan, the phase I of the C3 project is expected to be fully put into operation by the end of 2022. The first batch of the production installation includes an epichlorohydrin project with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons, an epoxy resin project with an annual capacity of 180,000 tons, an hydrogen peroxide project with an annual capacity of 350,000 tons, and an sodium hydroxide project with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons, as well as some public utility projects.
Adopting green and low-carbon recycling processing and techniques, the project aims to maximize the value of byproduct "hydrogen" and the recycling of byproduct "sodium".
